Important: This comic is about mermaids, and my mermaids tend to be naked. For this reason, this comic is intended for mature audiences. Assume that every update is NSFW. *nod*
Happy MerMay! And with MerMay comes a slew of mermaid art from all the corners of the internet. Also, with this year’s MerMay, I wanted to use it as a jumping off point for BISQUE, the side-story to my main comic MONSTER SOUP.
Ever since I was a kid, and as long as I can remember, I have loved three main things; vampires, werewolves, and mermaids. I have always written stories about vampires and werewolves, but I had never really written a story centering around mermaids. Writing this story has allowed me to rediscover my love for these interesting sea creatures. *nod-nod*
Onto the update: Would this be considered an episode? A part? I know this really can’t be seen as a “page” since it’s really 4 (or more) pages in one update. For this reason, I’m thinking this comic might be a once a month update. I’m still figuring things out here, but this scrolling format is very fun to work with. The coloring, though, I spent too much time on it. I started off wanting this side comic to be easier to make, and I wanted to go with a more sketchy style. But as always, I get sucked into the details and forget my original style game-plan. I’m also not at my main workstation, and because of this, I don’t have the 3D cave I made for this comic. What to do, what to do…
Random additional note: I really love this side-story. I had an incredible time writing these 10 chapters. But I do NOT want to take 10 years to get this out and finished. This is why I’m looking at corners to cut when making pages. I’m only one person making two comics. I will try my best, but even I know that time is finite. This comic isn’t going to look “perfect” and that’s fine. I have to be fine with that. *nod-nod-nod*
