Page 1 – Checkmate
This chapter will be the first one created completely in Manga Studio 5 EX. I had a time trying to recreate my black gutters, but I eventually found a method that worked. I’m also loving how MS5 handles text, balloons, and tails. It’s so much more convenient and faster than my old way in Photoshop. Manga Studio has also become my go-to art program for everything. Oh, the deck of cards seen here are an actual set I created for this chapter. The face cards were taken from a copyright free set I found online. I would have drawn my own, but I was taking too much time on such a small detail. If I ever go to any conventions, though, I thought about printing this deck to sell.
