Things have been a little chaotic lately. While I was working on thumbnails/layouts for this chapter, my dad decided to visit. The plan was for him to travel the 15+ hour drive from West Virginia to Texas, visit me for a few days, then head east for a 14+ hour drive to Myrtle Beach, SC to visit my sisters. After that, it would be a 7 hour drive back to WV. Then the idea hits me, “I should travel with him.” It was a surprise trip, and my major concern was the pandemic, but I took every precaution I could. My sisters were extremely surprised to see me, especially since they know my fear of flying. My father and I spent almost a week in Myrtle Beach. It was nice to see my ol’ stomping grounds. I lived there for–*thinks*–16 years? After our visit there, we headed north for West Virginia. (Not sure if I mentioned it before, but my parents have been divorced since my first year in college. They’ve remained cordial to each other over the years. No animosity between them. They have also both remarried.)

Once I reached my mother’s house, I walked inside to surprise her. She was in complete shock. It was surreal to be there and it was surreal for her to see me again. My mother had moved into my grandmother’s house not long after I moved to Texas, and this house holds so many memories. To be back here after the last time I stayed here… It was when I was taking care of my grandmother.

So, this is where I’m currently residing. I left Texas November 9th, and have spent Thanksgiving with my mother, youngest sister, and my stepfather. It was a nice, simple Thanksgiving. As for how long I’m staying here… I’m not sure. I have January 4th in mind for a return date, but it’s not set in stone. As for my work on the comic, I’m still working away, but my setup isn’t ideal. I have my hp ZBook which allows me to draw digitally, but I’ve been fighting with a deadzone on the bottom right corner of the screen. But I’m making do with what I have. Even now, I’m writing this on my phone as I’m fighting sleep, but I wanted to post something today.

I’m starting to nod off as I’m writing this. I already had to erase several mistakes and botched words, some which may have been overlooked.

Night nite, all. Zzzzz…
