Page 12 – Firewood
In the second to last panel, Luke originally had a more intense expression as he was looking at the castle, but I softened it. I didn’t want to give the impression that it was a response to Pepper’s comments.
This week was a disaster. I knew there had been issues with the hot water tank, but I assumed it only needed a new heating element. There was a small leak at the panel with the faulty element, and some slight buildup of calcium around the leak, yet there was also rust. I put off replacing the heating element for a month or so until I could get help with it, but once the panel was removed, it was clear how much damage there really was. The element was completely rusted over and corroded, and the leaking had gotten worse by then, with the whole bottom of the tank now standing in rusty water. It was obvious at that moment that I needed a new tank. *sigh* And this was how I spent my Christmas.
The new tank is installed and working fine so far. *fingers crossed* I’m going to keep an eye on it for the next several days for any leaking around the fittings.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
