Page 14 – GUARDS!
Something strange is storming in.
What do these guards look like underneath? My earliest sketch had me thinking about a cross between worms and a fungus.
The eyes are supposed to go around the head and resemble the bleeding tooth fungus.
It also messes with my trypophobia, and now my skin is itchy, but I also want to grab the fungus and squeeze it for some reason.
The spears/polearms were also something I constructed in SketchUp, bashing other models together to until I got something I could use. I would have liked a more asymmetrical design, but I did want to sink too much time into it. (I only finished the page last night.)
I just had an idea for a pastry/candy shop. It’s mushroom themed and all the food resembles various fungi. :D
🥗 In other news (garden news), my two hydroponic systems are now set up for lettuce and spinach. It’s been interesting being able to grow my own salads for a change. The weekly food drop hasn’t been offering salads lately, and when they do, I mostly get them to salvage the dressings and toppings, with the soggy/slimy greens going into the compost.

(Sorry about missing last week’s update. I’ve mentioned before when I miss an update/deadline, I can’t help but feel defeated or a failure. But with everyone’s support and understanding, I’ve realized that I don’t need to be so hard on myself if I can’t work as fast as other artists, or if I don’t have the extra time in the week to finish a page.)
