Happy Halloween! While this is the last page of Chapter 5, today also marks the 3rd anniversary of the comic! Wow, three years. I actually thought this would be further in the story than it is now, but things happen. I also thought I would be in West Virginia now (I still haven’t moved), and all of my scripts and other comic making items are waiting for me there, nestled within boxes and probably feeling abandoned. I’ll have to carry on without them.

November. For many years before I started working on the comic, I participated in the National Novel Writing Month. Throughout the month of November, participants try their best to write 50,000 words of a novel. While I do miss the madness and fun of NaNowriMo, I think I’m going to bend it to my current purpose; Chapter 6. My goal? I think I may aim for a 15-20 page goal, or work on one page a day until the end of the month (that will give me 30 partially finished pages). Hmmm, I’m not sure, I’m still figuring out what the goal should be.

Additional note regarding the RSS feed: I recently changed the permalinks to the site in hopes of fixing the blog, and in doing so broke the original link for the feed. The new link is “http://monstersoupcomic.com/?feed=rss2“. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. And the reason for fixing the blog? I plan to start posting again, mainly previews of upcoming character concepts, experimental work, and glimpses of new pages. I don’t want to go completely silent while my nose is to the grindstone on Chapter 6. I still want to offer something.

Now that this chapter is finished, I hope–*fingers crossed*–that I can stick with the original two updates a week again. Everyone has now seen how long it takes me to finish one page, and while I would like this to be a full-time career, it isn’t.

A buffer is good, a buffer is sweet, and without a buffer, I’m headed for defeat.
