I had planned to draw a mini comic of Jack and his past polycule relationship, but that part of his story isn’t revealed until later in the current chapter (10). Vengari and Sol, however, have been hinted at having a relationship for a while now. It’s subtle, but more obvious in one of Toadie’s Comics.
I haven’t posted one of these in a while. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen this character posted back in November. In keeping with the whole food theme for names, I used “mozzarella” as inspiration. I also found out that “Morella” is the name of a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. Added with this knowledge, the name stuck.
When I’m working on a character, I tend to scribble out as many sketches as I can. While I’m sketching, I start to see scenes and other images with them. These concepts are a part of the process I love. Most likely, when she’s finally seen in the comic… *crickets* All right. I overwhelmed myself with the thought of everything I need to draw before she makes her debut. *sigh*
I couldn’t think of anything “Valentine’s” for the main characters this year, so I went with some (possible) side characters. The island has a lot of unseen inhabitants.
It’s been 10 years since I first started posting the comic online. A year before that I worked on building the characters and story. I decided to take a look back at the main cast to see how their appearances have changed.
I post random sketches to Twitter sometimes, and those posts tend to get buried. So, I decided to collect them all to post here.
