This is the page that took me 3 weeks to finish. It originally wasn’t a double-length page, but as I was reworking things in this scene, it “felt” better to have it this way.

Clip Studio Paint 3.0 was released. Makes me sad, though. It feels like Celsys is planning to release a new version every year, and the upgrade for me is roughly $46. While I like staying up to date with the software, it’s starting to feel more like an annual subscription fee at this point. (I don’t use their Update Pass, which allows users to get all those smaller updates in between major releases.) And then there’s their whole “map” when it comes to upgrading, which tends to be very confusing for many people. I had used CSP on my iPad (7th gen) when I first bought it, but after that year was up, I canceled the sub. I still have my iPad, but when it comes to art, its not that great. I use it mainly for writing these days with Scrivener. I probably should’ve saved more for an iPad Pro, but that hefty price tag… I keep reverting to “Never gonna happen.” I think my mind is looking at portable options because I’ll be taking a road trip soon and I want to be able to work while away from my main setup. I do have a laptop and a cheap drawing tablet that I will be taking with me, yet I know the setup isn’t ideal and I’ll need time to get used to it. My biggest fear is getting behind on the comic. I don’t like the idea of losing my buffer, and while it’s there for this reason, having that cushion of finished pages removes a chunk of anxiety. The cheap, portable tablet I bought? It’s a UGEE U1600 for $160. It’s a drawing display, but at that price? I was skeptical. I did test it out to see if it works with my laptop, which it did. No issues from the first test. It seems that most of the bad reviews I saw were about the drivers. Also, the stylus has a bad reputation. Eh… *fingers crossed*

More about the road trip later when I have more information. :D
