Page 40 – Not Okay
The Dream/Vision sequence is over!
Originally, she was supposed to be speaking gibberish, with me depicting that through symbols from some foreign language. After a lot of trial an error, I ended up with something else. I honestly don’t remember the steps, but I remember wanting her to be speaking backwards. (As a reference to a mirror.)
I had to ask my mom for help with this page. I didn’t know exactly how drugs are administered when someone is on an IV. I used reference, but when I showed her the sketch, she commented, “Oh, we don’t used needles anymore. This is the old way of doing an IV push.” I told her that this “doctor” is old school anyway, so I kept the needle. She also informed me about clearing the line with saline and the whole procedure. But I only needed the one panel to show what was happening, not five. ;D
In this chapter, I had changed Jack’s hair color to look a little darker and more vibrant, but after a while, I realized I preferred the paler blond on him. So last week I ended up changing his hair color back to the original. It took a while, but I went with my gut.
Ah, much better. The nagging feeling is now gone.

And while the chapter is finished posting there, I plan to post in between chapters 12 and 13, but those updates will be glimpses from Chapter 13. I don’t have any Toadie Comics planned this time around as a filler, yet that can change if an idea strikes me.
